Notable for its charm, spontaneity and informality, Moyen Age demonstrates Theodore Robinson’s ability to integrate impressionist strategies of light, color and technique with his concern for academic precepts of form and composition. This delightful vignette also demonstrates his ability to integrate the scenic topography of the Seine Valley with his enduring penchant for rendering the figure.
