Yin Yong Chun is a contemporary Chinese painter who specializes in still lifes in which he combines a Western realist approach with Asian compositional influences. He portrays objects in meticulous detail, while synchronizing their relationships in space to produce a yin/yang sense of balance and harmony. Chun is also a painter of portraits.
Chun was born in Liaoning Province in northeast China. He studied at the China Artists’ Association from 1979 to 1983 and completed his undergraduate studies in oil painting at Harbin Normal University, in the Heilongjiang Province. From 1989 until 1990 he undertook postgraduate studies at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang, Liaoning, China.

During the 1980s Chun participated in local exhibitions. In the following decade he was included in several prestigious shows. He had solo exhibitions at the World Trade Center in Beijing in 1993, 1994, and 1996, and was included in the prestigious Beijing International Expositions in 1995, 1996, and 1997. Chun displayed his work in the United States for the first time in 1999, when he had one-artist show at the World Fine Art Gallery in New York. In 2001, a joint show of his art was held at the Gallery of Graphic Arts, New York, and a solo exhibition was held at the National Arts Club, New York. In 2002, Chun participated in a group exhibition at Galerie du Monde in Hong Kong
Yin Yong Chun’s works may be found in many important collections in the United States, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan and Europe.
