Little is known of the life and career of Gerda-Maria Ahlm, a landscape and portrait painter who was born in Vesteros, Sweden. The artist studied at the Royal Academy of Stockholm as well as at art academies in Paris and Rome. By 1905 she had settled in Chicago. She exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago (1905 and 1906) and was a member of the Society of Swedish Artists, Stockholm.
